Job summary

You will work under the manager, supervise a team of engineers and firemen, and help keep energy use safe, efficient, and compliant with state regulations.

Responsibilities include boiler inspections, initiating start-up procedures, monitoring safety valves, and coordinating with facilities staff to respond to alarms and emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and boiler or HVAC training completed.
• Second class engineer’s license issued by MA DPS.
• Knowledge of boiler operation and safety procedures with supervisory experience.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal supervisory and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversees operation of boilers and related equipment to produce steam per MA law.
• Inspects boiler plant regularly and maintains an inspection log.
• Must be onsite within 1 hour for serious issues, barring notification to Manager.
• Directs 3rd/1st/2nd class engineers in operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Reports unusual situations to Manager and responds to hospital trouble calls.
