Job summary

Arista Networks is seeking a Senior Board Power Engineer to contribute to the switch networking product line from concept to bench validation. You will collaborate with teams across the globe to design and validate power delivery networks, and you will analyze power integrity in the lab to mitigate issues.

With 5+ years in power integrity, you will apply control theory, work with Cadence tools, and contribute to a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of power integrity engineering experience in HPC or networking hardware.
  • BSEE or MSEE required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong lab skills with oscilloscope, DMM, DC load; power measurement expertise.
  • Proficient with control theory concepts: gain/phase margin and stability.
  • Experience with DC-DC converters, multiphase architectures and power delivery.
  • Cadence tooling experience for schematic/layout review.
  • Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration; clear communication.
  • Knowledge of Python for automation is a plus.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in power integrity engineering, with a focus on high-performance computing or networking hardware.
  • Education: BSEE, MSEE, or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Power Expertise: Proven experience in analyzing, mitigating, and optimizing power integrity, including detailed troubleshooting in the lab.
  • Lab Skills: Proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, DC load, Bode plots) and experience with power measurement techniques.
  • Control Theory Knowledge: Solid understanding of control theory, including gain margin, phase margin, stability, and related metrics for power integrity analysis.
  • Power Technology Knowledge: In-depth understanding of DC-DC power converters, multiphase architectures, and various control modes (current mode, voltage mode, constant-on-time).
  • Design Tools: Experience reviewing schematics and layouts, specifically with Cadence tools.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Strong communication and teamwork skills, with experience working cross-functionally to implement power delivery strategies.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Document power integrity analyses, design decisions, test results, and present findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Bonus Skills: Knowledge of Python for automation and data analysis is a plus.
Compensation Information

The new hire base pay for this role has a pay range of $139,000 to $190,000.

Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location, so that we can offer consistent and competitive pay appropriate to the market. The actual base pay offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and work location.

The pay range provided reflects base pay only and in addition certain roles may also be eligible for discretionary Arista bonuses and equity. Employees in Sales roles are eligible to participate in Arista’s Sales Incentive Plan, which pays commissions calculated as a percentage of eligible sales. US-based employees are also entitled to benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings and income protection. The recruiting team can share more details during the hiring process specific to the role and location.
