Job summary

Flagship Pioneering in Cambridge seeks a Senior Strategic Transaction Leader to join our APEX Group. You will lead complex transactions across licensing, collaborations, and M&A, partnering with senior leadership to execute high-value deals.

This role requires a J.D. and 10+ years in life sciences transactions, with strong negotiation and leadership skills to drive strategic outcomes across the Flagship ecosystem.

Qualifications

• J.D. from a top-tier law school or equivalent graduate degree.
• 10+ years of experience in complex life sciences transactions, including top-tier law firms or investment banks.
• Deep expertise in corporate transactions and financings, including pharma collaborations and licensing.
• Proven ability to lead negotiations on high-value deals in biotech/pharma.
• Excellent executive presence and communication to advise senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive execution of transactions across licensing, collaboration, financing, partnership, JV, M&A, and other strategic activities.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors to facilitate decision-making.
• Drive design and structuring of complex transactions to meet financial objectives.
• Mentor and develop younger colleagues within the APEX group.
• Negotiate transaction terms and manage related processes to closing.
• Manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, regulations, and legal developments affecting biotech transactions.
• Develop and implement best practices, templates, and playbooks for transaction processes.
• Direct external law firms and advisors to manage high-stakes negotiations and costs.
