Job summary

Cytel in Raleigh, NC is seeking an Associate Director of Biostatistics to lead statistical activities for late-stage clinical trials. You will be embedded with a major pharma client, applying advanced statistical methods and collaborating across cross-functional teams to influence trial design, analysis, and reporting.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in Statistics (PhD preferred) with 7+ years in pharma/biotech, and strong SAS/R proficiency for QC and analyses.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Statistics or related quantitative discipline; PhD preferred.
• 7+ years in clinical trials in pharma/biotech.
• Phase II–III experience including SAP development, sample size calculation, and TLF review.
• Strong knowledge of adaptive design and group sequential methods.
• Proficient in SAS and/or R for QC of outputs.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead statistical activities for assigned Clinical Trials (Phases 3) from protocol design to reporting of results.
• Represent Statistics on cross-functional trial teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Oversight of internal programming activities and CRO contributions on trials.
• Contribute to or lead activities including database lock, submissions, safety reporting, and regulatory queries.
• Collaborate with clinical, data management, programming and other stakeholders to finalize study outputs per regulatory requirements.
• Use SAS and/or R for QC, inferential analyses, modelling, and exploratory analyses.
• Coordinate statistical activities across studies within the project for alignment and on-time delivery.
