Job description

Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering novel therapeutics for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a serious liver disease that can progress to cirrhosis, liver failure, need for liver transplantation and premature mortality. Every member of our Madrigal team is connected by our shared purpose: leading the fight against MASH.

Madrigal’s medication, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), is a once‑daily, oral, liver‑directed THR‑β agonist designed to target key underlying causes of MASH. Rezdiffra is the first and only medication approved by both the FDA and European Commission for the treatment of MASH with moderate to advanced fibrosis (F2 to F3). An ongoing Phase 3 outcomes trial is evaluating Rezdiffra for the treatment of compensated MASH cirrhosis (F4c).

The Senior Biostatistician is an early‑career individual contributor who will support multiple biostatistical activities across all phases of clinical development and post‑marketing efforts. This role collaborates with other biostatisticians, programmers and cross‑functional team members—either within the company or at a CRO partner—to ensure Madrigal’s analytical objectives are met. The incumbent will translate organizational objectives into statistical deliverables, execute statistical strategies, and produce high‑quality analytical outputs under senior statistical guidance. The position reports to the VP of Biostatistics.

Responsibilities
  • Execute statistical modeling and analyses, coordinating with biostatisticians, programmers and cross‑functional team members to meet R&D objectives.
  • Perform and review complex statistical analyses, contribute to protocol development and prepare Statistical Analysis Plans as needed.
  • Contribute to the design and analysis of clinical and real‑world data to support evidence generation initiatives from randomized trials as well as observational studies.
  • Establish effective collaborations with cross‑functional team members such as clinical research, medical affairs, clinical operations and data management.
  • Contribute to scientific excellence via statistical innovation and participation in external conferences.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in (Bio)statistics with 2+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience in a Pharma or Biotech environment.
  • Experience in the design and analysis of clinical trials and healthcare data sets.
  • Strong foundation in advanced statistical methods and computing (R, SAS).
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex statistical analyses and concepts to non‑statisticians.
  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines in pharmaceutical development is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
