Professional Recruiting Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior BIOS / UEFI Engineer for new product development in Huntsville, Alabama. You will develop and customize UEFI BIOS for rugged embedded platforms, starting from AMI/Intel references and adapting them to new hardware.

You will lead BIOS bring-up with hardware and firmware teams and drive issues to production. You will own BIOS development end-to-end, collaborating with hardware, FPGA, IPMC, and software engineers, and supporting

Qualifications

5+ years hands-on BIOS development experience.
Strong experience developing UEFI BIOS; modern UEFI required.
Demonstrated experience personally developing BIOS and bringing up boards.
Experience with BIOS bring-up on newly designed hardware.
Experience where BIOS ran on the boards they helped bring up.
Strong proficiency in C.
Low-level programming: registers, memory, peripherals.
BIOS customization/porting to new hardware.
Strong understanding of hardware/firmware interaction.
Troubleshooting hardware/firmware integration during bring-up.
Ability to work with hardware engineers and other disciplines.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Willingness to work full-time on-site in Huntsville, AL.

This is an opportunity to join the Huntsville engineering organization as the site's key BIOS/UEFI specialist, working closely with hardware, FPGA, firmware, and software engineers on next-generation embedded computing products.

Your Role with the Company -New Product Development

As a Senior BIOS / UEFI Engineer, you will develop and customize BIOS for new products that are rugged embedded computing platforms. You will work from an AMI/Intel reference BIOS, adapt it to new hardware, and support BIOS bring-up alongside the hardware and firmware teams.

Your work will include:

Developing and customizing UEFI BIOS for new products.
Performing BIOS bring-up on newly designed boards.
Debugging hardware/firmware issues during initial board startup.
Working with hardware, FPGA, and other firmware engineers to validate system functionality.
Supporting interfaces such as USB, PCI Express, SATA, and other board-level functionality.
Taking BIOS development from initial bring-up through production.

Background Profile

Must Have

5+ years of hands-on BIOS development experience. (will consider less for exceptional background)
Strong experience developing UEFI BIOS; modern UEFI experience is required rather than legacy BIOS exposure alone.
Demonstrated experience personally developing BIOS, not simply working with systems that use BIOS.
Experience with BIOS bring-up on newly designed hardware.
Experience where the candidate's BIOS actually ran on the board they helped bring up.
Strong working proficiency in C.
Ability to perform low-level programming involving registers, memory, and peripherals.
Experience customizing or porting BIOS to new hardware.
Strong understanding of hardware/firmware interaction.
Experience troubleshooting hardware and firmware integration issues during board bring-up.
Ability to work directly with hardware engineers and other engineering disciplines.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
