Overview
An established provider of rugged embedded computing solutions for demanding military, aerospace, industrial, and high-reliability applications is seeking a Senior BIOS / UEFI Engineer to join its Huntsville engineering organization. This role serves as the site's key BIOS/UEFI specialist, working closely with hardware, FPGA, firmware, and software engineers on new product development from initial board bring-up through production.

- Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, and other firmware engineers to validate system functionality
- Support interfaces such as USB, PCI Express, SATA, and other board-level functionality

- Experience with BIOS bring-up on newly designed hardware, where the candidate's BIOS actually ran on the board they helped bring up
- Strong working proficiency in C
- Ability to perform low-level programming involving registers, memory, and peripherals
- Experience customizing or porting BIOS to new hardware
- Strong understanding of hardware/firmware interaction
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and firmware integration issues during board bring-up
- Ability to work directly with hardware engineers and other engineering disciplines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness and ability to work full-time on-site in Huntsville, Alabama
- Hands-on UEFI BIOS development experience
- BIOS customization for new hardware
