Job summary

International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) is seeking a skilled professional to advance industrial biotechnology and yeast manufacturing. The role focuses on optimizing H&B manufacturing processes, enabling tech transfers, and driving technoeconomic evaluations for capital projects.

The incumbent will collaborate with global R&D and manufacturing teams, analyze process performance, and support product launches, with a hybrid role based in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience in industrial/biochemical yeast processing.
• Strong knowledge of fermentation and downstream processing.
• Experience supporting manufacturing optimization initiatives.
• Ability to collaborate across locations, functions, and divisions.
• Proven decision-making, prioritization and strategic thinking skills.
• Financial and business acumen including project justification and cost analysis.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting and proactive technical support for H&B manufacturing processes.
• Benchmark and optimize manufacturing operations.
• Assess yeast manufacturing performance and compliance including cost analysis.
• Support new product launches and technology transfers with internal yeast focus.
• Monitor and communicate process performance and efficiency metrics.
• Develop technoeconomic evaluations for improvements and capital projects.
• Contribute to global Manufacturing Technology initiatives.
• Evaluate assets and capabilities to support business needs.
• Support process commercialization and front-end loading for expansions.
