Job summary

Just-Evotec Biologics in Redmond, WA is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to lead the design and development of new equipment and single-use technologies across the biomanufacturing network. You will drive cross-functional evaluations, create validation plans, and support site MSAT and manufacturing operations.

The role requires exceptional collaboration with vendors, regulatory readiness, and the ability to present data to senior leadership on ongoing improvements and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering, sciences, or related life science engineering, 12+ years of experience, or MS with 10+ years.
• SME knowledge in cell culture biopharmaceutical manufacturing, chromatography, filtration, viral clearance.
• Understanding of upstream cell culture expansion and processing operations, including perfusion.
• Experience designing GMP single-use instrumentation and leachables/extractables programs.
• Experience leading technology implementation and validation activities for clinical and commercial manufacturing readiness.
• Experience executing facility fit assessments and process validation activities.
• Strong independent work and cross-functional leadership.
• Ability to organize, analyze data and present to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of new equipment, technologies and single-use materials across the network.
• Develop lifecycle and maintenance program for GMP equipment and technologies.
• Evaluate innovative technologies within project governance for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with vendors to test technologies for implantation into manufacturing.
• Develop global design documents and validation protocols based on requirements.
• Collaborate on DCS design and PLC integration with automation teams.
• Support CQV activities and facility utility assessments.
• Develop SOPs and training for processing equipment and technologies.
• Build equipment maintenance and lifecycle plans.
• Provide SME support in non-conformance investigations and CAPAs.
