Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an Advanced Application Specialist to drive customer success in bioprocessing. You’ll combine deep scientific expertise with consultative engagement to optimize workflows and accelerate technology adoption across development, MSAT, and manufacturing.

You’ll interact with key technical decision-makers, influence strategy, and expand platform use while mentoring junior colleagues.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of progressive bioprocessing experience with customer-facing tech.
• Deep technical expertise in bioprocess applications and filtration technologies.
• Strong understanding of process development, scale-up, technology transfer, MSAT and manufacturing.
• Ability to influence senior customer stakeholders and drive technology adoption.
• Proven ability to identify specification opportunities and workflow improvements.
• Translate complex technical solutions into clear operational and business value.
• Cross-functional leadership with influence without formal authority.
• Mentoring, Voice of Customer insights, and industry engagement.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with technical/business stakeholders.
• Position heavily supports the Patheon, St Louis, Missouri site; travel up to 50% in the Midwest.

Responsibilities

• Advise on bioprocess workflows and accelerate technology adoption.
• Build trusted relationships with technical decision-makers across groups.
• Lead complex customer programs, evaluations, and technology adoption initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to simplify workflows and expand Thermo Fisher technologies.
• Translate customer needs into product development, commercialization and portfolio strategy.
• Mentor junior specialists and promote regional best practices.
