Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking a Biomedical Technician at the BMET I–III level to maintain and calibrate general to specialty patient care equipment. The role includes leading projects, mentoring junior staff, and supporting department initiatives across UnityPoint Health facilities.

The position emphasizes safety, compliance, reliability, and operational excellence, with opportunities to travel between affiliate sites and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or other Technology/IT related program.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• AUTOINS required for driving a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, installations, troubleshooting, and calibration of general, advanced, and specialty biomedical equipment.
• Lead projects, mentor BMET I & II staff, coordinate vendor activities, and maintain expertise through ongoing training.
• Participate in on-call rotations and travel between UnityPoint Health facilities as needed.
