Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in biomedical engineering technology, electronics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hospital-based Biomedical Equipment Technician experience.
• Strong knowledge of medical device technology, electronics, and healthcare regulations.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools, software, and manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Effective communication to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment in clinical environments.
• Must pass Federal background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on complex biomedical equipment and systems.
• Install, calibrate, and validate new medical devices and equipment according to manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical support and training to clinical staff on the proper use and care of biomedical equipment.
• Collaborate with vendors, manufacturers, and other healthcare professionals to resolve equipment issues and ensure optimal performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, infection control protocols, and regulatory guidelines such as FDA, Joint Commission, and OSHA.
• Assist in the development and implementation of equipment management programs and policies.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergency repair requests.
