Job summary

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital seeks a Senior Bioinformatics Research Scientist for data science projects within the Center for Pharmacogenomics in the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The role focuses on EHR-driven phenotyping to support pharmacogenomics discovery, developing informatics tools to enhance phenotyping and enable deep phenotyping through NLP and ML. The successful candidate will work with large external biobank datasets (All of Us, eMERGE, TopMed, UK

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in bioinformatics, cheminformatics, statistics/computer science with a biological sciences or chemistry background.
• Master's degree or PhD preferred.
• Experience in programming or scripting and at least one statistical package, with R preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide research support and deliver high-quality results by formulating an efficient analytical approach with the available data.
• Deliver data files and document the analytical process; may participate in manuscript preparation.
• Assist in establishing protocols or best practices for common research tasks and analytical plans.
