Job summary

Devyantram in Ashburn, GA seeks a leader to own the living-systems layer of the CEREBRION platform, spanning living neural tissue, biohybrid substrates, and bioelectronic interfaces. You will drive interdisciplinary work across biology, electronics, optics, and materials science to create durable, learning-capable substrates.

This role demands senior expertise in bioengineering and neural engineering, with a track record of translating research to integrated systems and leading wet-lab teams.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Bioengineering, Neural Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years hands-on R&D across living-systems and bioelectronic work.
• Strong living-systems foundation in engineered neural tissue, biohybrid systems, or organoids.
• Hands-on experience with bioelectronic interfaces coupling neural/biological substrates to electronic/optical systems.
• Experience with ionic/conducting-polymer devices and materials-based neural-emulating substrates.
• Proven ability to take living or materials-based systems from bench to integrated use.
• Strong experimental design and cross-disciplinary communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the neural substrate of CEREBRION across living and engineered forms.
• Develop and maintain engineered neural tissue and biohybrid substrates.
• Design and build materials-based, neural-emulating substrates using iontronic approaches.
• Partner with photonics and micro/nano leads on device-level fabrication and physics.
• Support closed-loop learning across the integrated system.
• Establish biosafety, ethics, and reproducibility standards for living-systems work.
