Exelixis is seeking a Senior Scientist I, Analytical Development, Biologics CMC to lead the development of phase-appropriate cell-based bioassays and potency assays for biologics, including ADCs, mAbs, and bispecifics. The role emphasizes hands-on assay development, transfer, and data interpretation within a cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in life sciences with industry experience.
• Hands-on experience developing complex cell-based bioassays.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture, transfection, flow cytometry, and functional readouts.
• Knowledge of binding/kinetic methods such as SPR or BLI and related assay design.
• Strong documentation and regulatory-supporting writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop cell-based bioassays from concept through transfer and qualification.
• Perform mammalian cell culture, transient transfection, and engineered cell models.
• Develop and troubleshoot functional bioassays (ADCC/CDC, cytotoxicity, proliferation).
• Apply flow cytometry, ELISA, plate-based binding assays, SPR/BLI to support assays.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align assay strategy with programs.
• Document procedures, development reports, and regulatory materials.
