Job summary

Quiddity, a full-service civil engineering firm, seeks a Senior BIM Technician to develop and maintain Revit models and construction documents for water and wastewater projects. You will collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to translate designs into accurate, coordinated deliverables.

You will manage deadlines, assist with QA/QC, and mentor junior staff while upholding BIM standards and templates across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in drafting, design, engineering technology, or related field and 2+ years BIM/Revit experience; or
• High school diploma/GED and 6+ years BIM/Revit experience; or
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Revit models and construction documents for water and wastewater projects from design to final plans.
• Coordinate with engineers and designers to translate concepts into accurate Revit drawings.
• Produce plan sets, profiles, sections, details, schedules for water/wastewater infrastructure.
• Coordinate Revit models with other disciplines and resolve conflicts.
• Perform QA/QC on personal work and review others' BIM work.
• Mentor junior BIM technicians and maintain BIM standards and templates.

Overview

The Senior BIM Technician supports water and wastewater engineering projects by developing and maintaining high-quality Revit models, construction documents, plan sets, details, and related project deliverables. Working closely with engineers, designers, and project managers, this position translates engineering designs and concepts into accurate, coordinated, and complete construction documents.

The Senior BIM Technician works independently on routine and moderately complex assignments, manages project deadlines, assists with QA/QC, resolves day-to-day BIM issues, and provides technical guidance and training to less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Revit models and construction documents for water and wastewater infrastructure projects from preliminary design through final plan production.
• Work with engineers and designers to translate design concepts, sketches, redlines, and technical information into accurate Revit models and drawings.
• Produce plan sets, profiles, sections, details, schedules, and other project deliverables for water distribution, sanitary sewer collection, wastewater treatment, pump stations, lift stations, and related utility infrastructure.
• Coordinate Revit models and drawings with other disciplines and identify potential conflicts or inconsistencies.
• Complete redlines, revisions, and drawing updates with minimal supervision.
• Perform QA/QC of personal work and assist with reviewing the work of less experienced BIM technicians.
• Set up and maintain Revit project files, views, sheets, templates, families, and other project-specific BIM components.
• Assist with maintaining and improving Revit standards, templates, workflows, and production procedures.
• Troubleshoot routine Revit and BIM issues and elevate more complex issues as appropriate.
• Communicate project progress, workload, deadlines, and technical challenges to project team members.
• Assist with training and mentoring junior BIM technicians.
• Maintain current knowledge of Revit, BIM practices, and water/wastewater industry standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in drafting, design, engineering technology, or related field and 2+ years of progressively complex BIM/Revit experience; or
• High school diploma/GED and 6+ years of progressively complex BIM/Revit experience; or
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Required Skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit.
• Experience producing construction documents in a civil engineering environment, preferably water/wastewater.
• Understanding of engineering drafting practices, terminology, and construction documentation.
• Ability to interpret engineering plans, sketches, specifications, and redlines and translate them into accurate Revit models and drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability and willingness to train and mentor less experienced staff.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Experience with water distribution, sanitary sewer, lift stations, pump stations, wastewater treatment facilities, or related utility projects.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary Revit models.
• Experience developing and maintaining Revit families, templates, and project standards.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Bluebeam.
