Job summary

Ampcus Inc. is seeking a BigID Engineer in Chicago, IL (Remote option available) to deploy, configure, and support the BigID platform for enterprise-wide data discovery, classification, governance, and privacy compliance.

You will collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to implement BigID solutions, perform upgrades, and maintain documentation and procedures. Strong focus on data protection and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Strong experience deploying and administering BigID solutions.
• Hands-on experience with BigID installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of data discovery, data classification, metadata management, and data governance concepts.
• Experience integrating enterprise applications, databases, and cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows server administration.
• Understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure principles.
• Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and system integrations.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise implementations.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the installation, deployment, and configuration of the BigID platform across enterprise environments.
• Configure data sources, scanners, connectors, and discovery jobs to support data identification and classification initiatives.
• Implement and maintain BigID modules and capabilities aligned with business and security requirements.
• Integrate BigID with enterprise systems, databases, cloud platforms, and security tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform, connectivity, and performance issues.
• Support data classification, data inventory, data governance, and privacy compliance initiatives.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, IAM, and application teams to ensure successful platform implementation.
• Perform system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes following established change management processes.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and operational procedures.
• Monitor platform health, performance, and capacity utilization.
• Participate in system integration testing and user acceptance testing.
• Provide technical expertise and operational support during project implementation and post-production phases.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements within the BigID environment.
• Support audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements related to data governance and privacy.
