Job summary

A growing IT staffing organization based in Rockville, MD, is seeking a Senior Big Data Engineer. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in IT solutions, with a minimum of 3-4 years focused on Big Data platforms. Responsibilities include leading technical teams, developing relationships with clients, and demonstrating expertise in Hadoop and other analytical technologies. This is a full-time position requiring hands-on implementation skills and solid understanding of both batch and stream processing technologies.

Qualifications

• 8 years of total experience in IT solutions and Big Data.
• Minimum of 3-4 years experience on Big Data Platform.
• Current hands-on implementation experience required.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on implementation experience with Hadoop ecosystem and related technologies.

• Deep understanding of database and analytics technologies including MPP databases, NoSQL storage.
• Big Data Security including Hadoop security and emerging technologies.
• Batch processing with Hadoop MapReduce, Cascading/Scalding, Spark; Stream processing with Storm, AKKA, Samza, Spark streaming.
