Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Developer in the United States (Kentucky) to lead BI projects and drive data-driven decisions. You will collaborate with data engineers to optimize pipelines and craft complex data models, drawing insights from structured and unstructured sources.

The role emphasizes governance, security, mentorship, and strategic BI improvements to align with business goals and enable trusted analytics across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years BI Developer experience required.
• Proficient in SQL with joins, aggregation, indexes, views and nested queries.
• Proficient in Power Query transformations.
• Proficient in writing measures in DAX.
• Proficient in STAR schema modeling.
• Proficient in creating user-friendly visualizations using AI copilots to author and review code.
• Proficient in using Git to version control Power BI code.
• Knowledge of data privacy, data governance, data security, data quality management, data preparation, data mining, predictive analytics, data visualization and dashboard reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead Business Intelligence projects from initiation to completion.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to optimize data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Extract data from diverse structured and unstructured sources.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to drive business decisions using BI.
• Collaborate with Data Governance teams to ensure data compliance and security.
• Mentor and guide less experienced BI professionals.
• Develop and maintain complex data models to extract meaningful business insights.
• Recommend improvements to BI infrastructure.
• Interpret data findings and translate them into actionable business strategies.
• Oversee integration of BI tools with other business systems.
• Drive BI strategies aligned with company business goals.
• Provide technical leadership and help shape the organization's BI strategy.
