Job summary

Amazon AWS seeks a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer III to lead analytics strategy for the ASP organization, focusing on Partner insights and analytics. The role blends data engineering with AI to build scalable, self-service analytics with strong governance.

You will own end-to-end data platforms, tooling, and AI integration, mentoring the team and influencing partner architecture decisions, standards, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of SQL experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math/Statistics/Economics or related field
• Experience scripting for automation (Python)
• Experience architecting and owning end-to-end data platforms serving multiple downstream consumers
• Experience with cloud-based data infrastructure (Redshift, Athena, Spark or equivalent) including performance optimization and cost management

Responsibilities

• Owns architecture and technical roadmap for analytics systems — data platforms, governance layers, self-service products, and AI integration patterns.
• Designs scalable data platforms: orchestration, quality monitoring, schema management, and infrastructure for traditional BI and AI-native consumption.
• Architects governance frameworks that maintain data trust at scale: lineage, freshness enforcement, validation pipelines, ownership models, lifecycle practices.
• Builds and owns automated analytics systems — report generation, KPI monitoring, anomaly detection, insight delivery for progressive automation.
• Defines the team's AI tooling strategy: evaluates frameworks, builds shared infrastructure, establishes reusable templates for AI integration.
• Drives cross-functional alignment on data product architecture; influences partner teams on integration patterns, API contracts, and standards.
• Makes technical decisions with broad impact: data modeling trade-offs, build-vs-buy, migration strategies, and cost/performance optimization.
• Applies advanced statistical and ML methods within production systems; designs experimentation frameworks to quantify business impact.
• Mentors engineers and raises team capability in data engineering and AI/ML practices.
• Communicates architecture and strategy to senior leadership; writes design docs and presents trade-offs clearly.
