Job summary

Sila Nanotechnologies is seeking an engineering leader to bring the next generation of lithium-ion batteries to market. You will lead a team deploying Sila’s anode materials with customers and partners, acting as a player-coach to align technical and business goals.

You will guide collaboration across Sila and with external partners, empower team members, and own the team’s success while driving ambitious but achievable targets.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or physical science; 12+ years of industry experience (fewer with advanced degree)
• Understanding of lithium-ion batteries, components, and materials
• Experience leading customer- or partner-facing relationships
• Exceptional leadership and communication abilities
• Demonstrated advanced engineering and project management skills
• Passion for coaching and guiding coworkers through trust, openness, and dedication

Responsibilities

• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
• Oversees the daily workflow of the team and portfolio.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
• Assumes administrative management responsibilities for the team.
• Manages employees and contractors to support sales activities with key partners and gather competitive intelligence.
• Drive the successful deployment of our technology with partners and experts to set and execute technical goals.
• Coach and support engineers with feedback and development opportunities.
• Establish or improve systems for efficient discussion of ideas and decision making.
• Facilitate collaboration between Product, Business Development, and R&D with external partners.
