Job summary

Peak Energy Technologies Inc. is seeking a Senior Cell Validation & Reliability Engineer to own validation and reliability for cells in our energy storage systems.

You will quantify cell-to-cell and batch-to-batch variation and translate it into system requirements, working with test engineering, modeling, and ESS engineering teams. You will design studies, own statistical analysis, and deliver cell-level inputs for calendar life, cycle life, and reliability evaluations, guiding 20-year calendar

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or a related field; M.S. preferred.
• 5+ years in battery cell/module/pack validation or reliability engineering within automotive or stationary energy storage.
• Reliability statistics: Weibull / life-data analysis, accelerated life testing, and confidence-bound methods for life claims.
• Applied statistics in engineering: DOE, capability analysis, MSA, sample-size justification.
• Hands-on familiarity with cell test methods: cyclers, environmental chambers, force/displacement, thermal instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Cell-to-System Integration Validation: validate electrical and mechanical integration of supplier cells; own cell-side validation verdict.
• Move validation to population statistics; design cell-to-cell and batch-to-batch variation studies; quantify variance propagation to system performance.
• Mechanical validation: assess cell behavior under system-representative compression; deliver force–displacement–life data for preload design.
• Electrical & BMS: analyze measured variation in OCV, equivalent-circuit parameters; quantify in-system vs bench performance deltas.
• Establish statistical foundation: MSA, capability, sample sizes, acceptance criteria, validation exit criteria.
