Job summary

The Cleveland Metropolitan School District is seeking a dedicated athletic coach/administrator at Glenville High School. The role focuses on coaching responsibilities, compliance with CMSD and OHSAA guidelines, and supporting student-athlete development at the school.

Responsibilities include attending meetings, tracking eligibility, managing rosters and equipment, and coordinating with parents and staff to ensure program success and safety.

Qualifications

• CPR certificate is required.
• A Pupil-activity coaching permit from the Ohio Department of Education is required.
• Previous successful coaching experience is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of sport/activity technical aspects and willingness to seek new techniques or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Attend OHSAA pre-season meetings.
• Attends CMSD pre/post season coaches meetings.
• Understands and follows CMSD/OHSAA guidelines and rules.
• Attends and arrives promptly to practices and games.
• Tracks and communicates student eligibility status.
• Submits roster, schedule, and transportation paperwork to Head coach or Athletic Director.
• Distributes, collects, and cares for uniforms and equipment.
• Participates in professional development by the Athletics Department.
• Uploads scores and statistics to the CMSD reporting site.
• Cooperates with the head coach to implement the program vision.
• Communicates with Central Office about forfeited games or seasons for payment review.
• Supervises students before and after practice and competitions.
• Communicates with parents, staff, and administrators.
• Communicates with other coaches regarding roles and responsibilities.
