Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer Level 4 in Elkridge, MD, on-site, to develop and maintain backend systems for mission-critical environments. You will build scalable data pipelines, APIs, and manage PostgreSQL databases using Python and FastAPI.

The role emphasizes processing-intensive analytics, real-time data, and high-performance integrations with strict security clearance requirements. On-site work, first shift, and eligibility for referral-based opportunities are included.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph security clearance.
• Backend software development experience.
• Data engineering and API development experience.
• Experience building scalable systems with Python and FastAPI.
• Design and manage PostgreSQL databases with efficient SQL and indexing.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems for analytics, large data sets, real-time processing.
• Provide input on software component design including trade-offs and reuse.
• Design, implement, and integrate software applications.
• Apply software engineering methodologies suitable for development, integration, and production environments.
• Ensure efficient delivery of capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes.
• Manage risks, costs, and schedules in large-scale projects.
• Review and test components and document test results.
