Longbridge is hiring a Senior Backend Developer to architect the core infrastructure for our US securities trading platform. You will tackle massive concurrency, ultra-low latency, and reliability challenges at scale.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate complex trading requirements into scalable technical solutions, while continuously refining performance and resilience through monitoring and modern infrastructure practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong CS fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OS, networking.
• Experience with Rust; Go or C++ acceptable in production.
• Experience with Linux internals, performance profiling, and debugging distributed systems.
• Innovative mindset and fast learner in a rapidly changing tech landscape.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and maintain core infra supporting our US securities trading system.

The Role

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be at the heart of our trading ecosystem. You won’t just be writing code; you will be architecting the high-performance foundations that power real-time securities trading. You will tackle challenges related to massive concurrency, ultra-low latency, and distributed systems reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect & Build: Design, implement and maintain the core infrastructure platform that supports our US securities trading system.
• Collaborate: Partner with cross-functional business and product teams to translate complex trading functionalities and business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Optimize for Performance: Continuously refine code and system architecture to achieve micro-millisecond latency and high throughput, ensuring our traders have a competitive edge.
• Ensure Resilience: Maintain and improve system stability and high availability, implementing robust monitoring and failover strategies.
• Modernize: Contribute to the evolution of our tech stack, advocating for best practices in systems programming and infrastructure-as-code.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years experience in backend development.
• CS Mastery: A rock-solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including complex data structures, algorithms, operating systems and networking.
• Systems Expertise: Proven professional experience with Rust. We are also open to experts in Go or C++ who are eager to master Rust in a production environment.
• Operational Mindset: Experience with Linux internals, performance profiling, and debugging complex distributed systems.
• Soft Skills: An innovative mindset with a "built-to-last" philosophy. You are a fast learner who stays ahead of the curve in a rapidly changing tech landscape.

Bonus Points

• Deep experience with Functional Programming (e.g., OCaml, Erlang, Elixir, or Haskell).
• Prior experience in trading platform (FinTech or Financial Services).

Job Location:

the preferred job location is Dallas or New York on hybrid working mode. But we are open to candidates from other locations (remote).
