Job summary

Bevi is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Boston-area team. You will design, build, and scale Bevi’s backend platform and services using Java and Kotlin, focusing on reliability, remote management, and performance.

You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions in a fast-paced hardware startup environment. The role requires strong API design, experience with microservices, cloud deployments, and data processing from Bevi machines.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of backend Java/Kotlin development.
• Strong API design experience; GraphQL is a plus.
• Experience with microservices and cloud deployments.
• Familiarity with Postgres and time-series databases; SQL skills.
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, optimize, and maintain Bevi’s backend platform and services using Java and Kotlin.
• Manage backend deployments and monitor service health post-rollout.
• Improve performance with logs and metrics; ensure API quality.
• Develop services to process telemetry from Bevi machines for R&D and fleet managers.
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum with cross-functional teams; mentor juniors.
