Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer Level 5 to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems in mission-focused environments. This backend role focuses on Python, FastAPI, API development, and data engineering, with design and management of PostgreSQL databases.

You will work on high-performance integrations across high-speed, data-sensitive systems, applying scalable architectures and rigorous testing. Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph is required.

• Backend development and data engineering experience required.
• Experience with Python and FastAPI.
• Design and manage PostgreSQL databases with indexing.
• Experience building high-performance APIs.
• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems, including processing-intensive analytics and real-time systems.
• Provide input to software component design and system-level requirements analysis.
• Design, implement, and integrate software applications or perform software engineering tasks.
• Utilize software engineering methodologies appropriate to development, integration, and production environments.
• Ensure efficient delivery of software capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes.
• Mitigate risks, control costs and schedule variance on large-scale projects.
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document results.
