Job summary

ARIVE in San Ramon, CA is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, support, and scale the core loan-originations engine using Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and AWS. You will own production issues end-to-end and collaborate with global teams to deliver reliable, secure services.

This role requires 5+ years of backend experience, strong API design, and experience with CI/CD, Docker, and cloud deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong Node.js/TypeScript with RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, CI/CD and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Design efficient database schemas and optimize queries across PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Build and operate containerized apps with Docker on AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, SQS).
• Strengthen CI/CD pipelines and observability (logging, metrics, tracing).
• Champion reliability, performance and secure coding practices in SOC 2 Type II env.
• Own production issues end-to-end, diagnose root-cause and deploy fixes.
• Coordinate with India-based team; align designs and code reviews; maintain core hours 7am–4pm PT.
• Lead design sessions, review code, mentor engineers, and contribute to roadmaps.
