Job summary

Apple Inc. in San Diego, CA is seeking an experienced backend engineer to build and maintain scalable location intelligence systems. You’ll design production-ready software that processes crowdsourced sensor data from hundreds of millions of devices and powers navigation and emergency responses.

You will own the full ML lifecycle, from feature engineering to deploying models, and collaborate across teams to deliver low-latency, efficient services at global scale.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java or Scala and backend languages.
• Strong foundation in OO design, distributed systems, and real-time software architecture.
• Advanced degree or equivalent experience with large-scale production systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production-grade backend systems at scale; create signal processing pipelines and data infrastructure for vast sensor data; own full ML lifecycle from problem formulation to production deployment.
