Job summary

EY is seeking a Backend Engineer in the US to design, build, test, and deliver server-side services and APIs for financial services clients. You will work on Java-based back-end systems, microservices, and cloud deployments within EY's Service Delivery Center.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, collaboration across product and engineering teams, and a flexible, fast-paced environment with up to 30% travel. A Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering/IS or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of enterprise application development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot for RESTful APIs.
• Experience with microservices architectures and API design.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases; familiarity with NoSQL data stores.
• Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka, JMS, or RabbitMQ.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Experience with JSON, XML, REST, SOAP, and web services.
• Experience with Jenkins, Git, CI/CD, and testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Experience with cloud development and production triage.
• Comfortable in Agile environments and collaborating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into secure services and own assigned workstreams end-to-end from design through production support.
• Integrate new interfaces with existing systems while maintaining security and performance.
• Deliver robust enterprise solutions with strong code quality, security, testing, and automation standards.
• Collaborate across product, engineering, testing, and operations teams and mentor juniors.
