Job summary

Spreetail is seeking a Software Engineer III to join our team, building and maintaining backend services that power our fulfillment operations — from inventory management to order processing and carrier integrations. You’ll own reliability and drive architectural decisions while mentoring others to elevate engineering quality.

You will collaborate with product managers and FC teams to translate requirements into solid software design, and you’ll lead by example in code reviews and system

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with backend focus.
• Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem; able to design and maintain production services.
• Familiarity with downstream ML pipelines (Python, dbt, Dagster) and collaboration with data teams.
• SQL Server / PostgreSQL for operational and transactional data.
• Familiarity with AWS (EKS, S3, SQS, EventBridge) and CI/CD with GitLab; experience with Android.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the backend services that power Spreetail’s fulfillment operations—inventory management, order processing, carrier integrations, and exception handling.
• Own the reliability and correctness of transactional systems that FC operations depend on every hour of every day.
• Lead technical design within your pod—driving architecture decisions, establishing patterns, and holding a high bar in code review.
• Identify and address systemic issues: performance bottlenecks, data consistency gaps, fragile integrations. Debug and resolve production issues quickly, with clear communication to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product managers and FC operations teams to translate operational requirements into sound software design. Mentor SE II engineers and help raise the overall engineering quality of the team.
