Flexcompute is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to design and implement scalable solutions for our EM simulation platform. The role emphasizes high-performance computing, cloud integration, and robust API design.

You will work with Java, Python, and C++ in a fast-paced startup environment, collaborating with EM and infrastructure teams to improve data management and frontend-backend unification. Join us to build the next generation of simulation software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering.
• Experience building backend services with Java, Python, or C++.
• Strong background in API design and distributed systems.
• Proficiency with Linux and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes) and cloud platforms like AWS.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to backend development and API unification for our EM simulation platform.
• Collaborate with EM and infrastructure teams on backend integrations and Python frontend tooling.
• Design scalable web APIs to orchestrate simulations and data access across hybrid cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain hybrid cloud compute/storage solutions integrating on-prem HPC with cloud platforms.
• Optimize HPC clusters, job scheduling, and data pipelines for reliability and performance.
