Job summary

Thyme Care is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own development of Thyme Box, our internal care management platform used by 600+ Care Team members daily. You will ship features end-to-end, work with Product on experiments, and collaborate with oncology leadership to solve complex problems.

You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of learning, collaboration, and technical excellence while building scalable backend services in Python, FastAPI, Postgres, and AWS.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building, shipping, and supporting software in production.
• Experience in fast-paced, early-stage environments.
• Strong experience with web development using Vue.js/TypeScript and Python (FastAPI).
• Have owned features from idea to production, including design, implementation, testing, and improvements.
• Able to communicate technical tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan, build, and deliver multiple features within Thyme Box from concept to launch.
• Partner with Product to scope experiments and shape new ideas to improve outcomes for members.
• Collaborate with oncology leaders to provide elegant technical solutions for evolving problems.
• Help build technology enabling care teams to surface benefit programs and services efficiently.
• Create intuitive UI to triage patient touch points from hospitalizations to chemo changes.
• Surface data from multiple sources to keep care teams up-to-date.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of learning and technical excellence.
