Job summary

ISOFT is launching a greenfield backend platform in Cincinnati, OH, seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and scale cloud-native services in a Java stack, collaborating with Product, Architecture, Design, and Engineering to shape the technical foundation.

You will build APIs, microservices, and orchestration layers to support search, personalization, recommendations, and AI-powered experiences; lead architecture reviews, implement CI/CD, and promote testing and observability in

Qualifications

7+ years hands-on software engineering experience.
Expert-level backend development in Java.
Experience building enterprise-scale backend platforms and distributed systems.
Strong experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
Experience designing complex integrations and orchestration layers.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and scale backend services using Java and cloud-native technologies.
Build APIs, microservices, orchestration layers, and platform services for search, personalization, and AI-driven experiences.
Partner with product and design teams to evaluate technical solutions during discovery and MVP development.
Contribute to architecture discussions, system design reviews, and technical planning.
Build highly scalable, resilient distributed systems and promote software quality with tests and observability.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
