Qualifications

• Strong experience building high-performance, scalable backend systems using Go.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB data models and performance tuning.
• Proven cloud-native development on AWS with production-grade Kubernetes deployments.
• Experience operating scalable backend services in high-traffic environments.

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a high-scale product engineering team focused on building and evolving critical platform services used by millions of users worldwide. In this role, you’ll design and develop high-performance backend systems that power core user experiences while ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on a highly visible product area while collaborating with cross-functional teams across engineering, product, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Golang.
• Develop and optimize distributed systems that support high traffic volumes and mission-critical platform functionality.
• Architect and implement cloud-native solutions on AWS, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Design and manage scalable data storage solutions using MongoDB.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain production services running on Kubernetes.
• Collaborate closely with product, frontend, platform, and infrastructure teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Improve system observability, reliability, and operational excellence through monitoring, automation, and performance optimization.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decisions that shape the future of the platform.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive long-term improvements to system stability and resilience.

Core Requirements

• Strong experience building high-performance, scalable backend systems using Golang.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and backend scalability patterns.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB, including scalable data modeling and performance optimization.
• Strong experience building and operating cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Production experience with Kubernetes, including deployment, monitoring, and resource management.
• Proven track record of delivering reliable systems in high-traffic, large-scale environments.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders in a cross-functional environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience building recommendation systems, personalization engines, or search infrastructure.
• Exposure to developer platforms and internal tooling that support engineering productivity.
• Experience working in high-growth environments where scalability, reliability, and user experience are critical.
• Familiarity with large-scale consumer-facing products serving millions of users.
