Job summary

Gini is a FinTech leader in Germany, powering back-end services for banking, e‑commerce and insurance with a focus on reliability and scalability. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will shape technical direction, build robust APIs, and collaborate across Product and Engineering teams to deliver impact for millions of users.

You will work with Java, Spring Boot, Docker, and Kubernetes in a hybrid setup based around Munich, with flexible hours and a strong emphasis on maintainability and security.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, building, and operating backend systems.
• Excellent knowledge of Java, JVM, and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and distributed microservice architectures.
• Solid experience with SQL databases; Cassandra/Elasticsearch a plus.
• Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and operate backend services powering our products.
• Build and extend APIs used by partners in banking and insurance.
• Improve systems to be more reliable, scalable, and maintainable.
• Collaborate with Product, Mobile, AI and other Engineering teams on new features.
