Rippling is building a unified global financial platform and backend that powers payroll, banking and compliance. The Financial Product Engineering team focuses on scalable, secure services handling real-time money movement and financial data across jurisdictions.

We seek a seasoned backend engineer to own core services, mentor others, and elevate engineering standards within a fast-growing FinTech environment at Rippling’s San Francisco-area location.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in production using Python, Go or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems and data modeling.
• Experience with large-scale systems and performance tuning.
• Strong CS fundamentals and cross-functional delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement core backend services and APIs powering product features.
• Ensure systems scale, reliability and security; guide infrastructure decisions.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and platform teams to translate goals into robust solutions.
• Lead code/design reviews and mentor engineers on backend best practices.
