Job summary

StackAI is seeking a senior Python engineer to join the Core Engineering team to build security‑critical product systems. You will implement encryption, key management, and tenant isolation, and ship production‑grade Python services across hosted, VPC, and on‑prem deployments.

You will influence architecture, handle migrations, and ensure data protection for PHI/PII while delivering reliable, auditable security foundations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Strong professional experience with Python in a substantial production codebase.
• Hands-on experience implementing security-critical product systems, including the code that enforces guarantees.
• Depth in encryption & key management, authentication, sessions, or multi-tenant isolation.

Responsibilities

• Build encryption and key-management systems across hosted, VPC, and on‑prem deployments.
• Protect PHI, PII, and sensitive data across workflows, logs, and storage.
• Secure customer credentials from storage to runtime usage.
• Strengthen tenant isolation, signing, and token handling in production systems.
• Create shared security foundations with Python services and APIs.
• Evolve live systems with migrations, rollouts, observability, and rollback.
