Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer Level 5 to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems for mission-focused environments. Backend development, data engineering, and API development are central, with an emphasis on Python and FastAPI, PostgreSQL databases, and high-performance integrations across data-sensitive systems.

The role requires strong Python and FastAPI skills, experience with PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch, and the ability to design scalable backend services.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• Backend developer with proven experience.
• Data engineering and API development experience.
• Experience building scalable systems with Python and FastAPI.
• Experience designing and managing PostgreSQL databases with efficient SQL and indexing strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems, including analytics, large data sets, real-time systems, and MIS.
• Provide input to software component design, including trade-offs and requirements analysis.
• Design, implement, and integrate software applications.
• Apply software engineering methodologies suitable for development, integration, and production environments.
• Ensure efficient delivery of software capabilities using standards and repeatable processes.
• Mitigate risks, control costs and schedule variance on large-scale projects.
• Review and test software components and document results.
