Job summary

Teleport seeks a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to help design and scale our AI infrastructure identity platform. You will build Go services, multi-cluster Kubernetes controllers, and cloud integrations with a security-focused mindset.

You'll work cross‑functionally, ship high‑quality features, and participate in our thoughtful interview process including a take‑home coding challenge. Teleport is remote-first, globally distributed, with strong health coverage and growth opportunities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Teleport Cloud Platform team architects a performant and scalable cloud platform that realizes the promise of Teleport as a SaaS product. The team is focused on scalability, security, and analytics of Teleport on our Cloud platform. They build multi-cluster Kubernetes controllers, networking services, platform monitoring tools, and more.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• You will work on problems ranging from networking and performance to security and integrations with external systems.
• Design, develop, and ship outstanding, high-quality products. A sample of potential projects:
• BEAMS, Cloud Hypervisor-based, Kata container, agentic runtime platform
• Multi-cluster Kubernetes operators for managing Teleport at scale
• Zero-downtime upgrades for services with long-lived tunnels
• Write most of the code in Go.
• Closely collaborate with other teams at Teleport
• Grow your technical expertise.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Willingness to work collaboratively with Teleport's engineers on coding challenge in Go https://github.com/gravitational/careers/blob/main/challenges/systems/challenge-1.md as part of the interview process.
• Extensive Go experience
• Strong expertise with Kubernetes, including experience writing controllers and extending Kubernetes via APIs.
• Extensive experience developing scalable, reliable, and performant systems.
• Strong software-related security experience and strong interest in security space.
• Proficiency with AWS and other cloud services.
• Linux systems engineering experience
• Networking experience
• Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to master new technologies
• Transparency, honesty, and a no-ego mindset

NICE TO HAVE

• Significant contributions in Open Source is a big plus.
• Knowledge of Envoy and Cilium
• Cryptography engineering experience

HOW WE HIRE

Our process is designed to be straightforward and respectful of your time. We skip performative rounds and focus on what matters: understanding how you think and what you can do.

For this role, we use a take-home challenge that mirrors real work at Teleport - on your time, your way. You'll have support from the team throughout.

1. Zoom meeting with a Teleport recruiter. You’ll learn about the company, our products, compensation philosophy, interview process, and key requirements.

2. Zoom meeting with the Hiring Manager. The Hiring Manager will walk you through the coding challenge and answer your questions.

3. Coding challenge collaboration. The day after your meeting with the Hiring Manager, you join a Slack channel and complete a coding challenge in Go https://github.com/gravitational/careers/blob/main/challenges/systems/challenge-1.md using GitHub. The challenge usually takes about 2 weeks and ends with a Zoom meeting with the Hiring Manager and a member of the interview team to review your solution.

4. If your challenge solution meets our bar, you'll receive an offer to join Teleport.
