Job summary

Sigma Computing in New York City is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to build distributed services for our cloud data analytics platform. You will work on high‑throughput APIs, data processing, and scalable systems using Rust, Go, GraphQL, Node, and Kubernetes.

You’ll collaborate through design reviews, debug complex issues, and ship features that empower live data exploration for thousands of customers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years industry experience building and maintaining high-quality software.
• Experience building and deploying robust and secure web applications in a continuous deployment environment.
• Desire to be a great teammate and have fun at work without compromising ownership towards your work.
• Strong sense of craftsmanship, and a healthy academic curiosity to solve challenges at sigma.

Responsibilities

• Build distributed backend services, algorithms, and APIs for Sigma’s cloud application.
• Develop software features and resolve product or system issues through debugging.
• Collaborate with peers and stakeholders in design and code reviews.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues.
• Design and implement new software features to support our fast growing user base.
