Job summary

Mercury is seeking senior backend engineers to join our growing product engineering group. You will own substantial backend components, partner with designers and product leaders, and help shape Mercury’s future in a startup-like environment within a fintech context.

You’ll work autonomously within a close-knit team across groups such as Banking, Experiences, Expansion, or Risk, delivering lovable, scalable software while embracing AI-assisted development and thoughtful architecture decisions.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of backend development experience.
• Interest in Haskell and proficiency with SQL.
• Empathizes with users to build lovable products.
• Has made architectural decisions and can articulate tradeoffs.
• Uses AI tools to accelerate development and improve quality.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with peers.
