Job summary

Counsel Health, Inc. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to define the future of AI-powered, human-led healthcare. You will own core product primitives—external APIs, health data models, retrieval infrastructure, and enterprise integrations—on the Platform & Integrations team.

The role centers on scaling our platform for enterprise clients and AI-driven clinical workflows. Ideal candidates will design durable APIs, model high-frequency data, and contribute to greenfield architectural decisions

Qualifications

5+ years building production backend systems.
Experience designing and maintaining external-facing APIs used by customers or partners.
Strong data modelling instincts around time-series or high-frequency data.
Experience with distributed systems and multi-tenant architectures.

Responsibilities

Design and evolve external API and embedded product layer for long-term stability.
Evolve retrieval harness to support patient and clinical search with strict permissions and audit guarantees.
Build reusable platform primitives to extend AI capabilities with partners.
Contribute to core data models that unify structured health records and time-series data.
