CVS Health is seeking a backend-focused Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain microservices on a cloud-native platform hosted on GCP. You will contribute to scalable architectures, data pipelines, and AI-enabled capabilities within a collaborative, high-energy team.

The role emphasizes strong analytical thinking, problem decomposition, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver modular, reliable software solutions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering with full lifecycle.
• 3+ years building cloud-native apps on GCP/AWS/Azure.
• 4+ years in backend programming (Java, Python, Kotlin, or Go).
• 2+ years designing and developing microservices and API/event-driven patterns.
• Experience with AI development tools such as Claude, Curosr/OpenCode/Codex.
• Experience with search technologies such as Elastic/OpenSearch/Solr/Lucene.
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Observability/monitoring with Splunk for production support.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable microservices architectures (APIs, domain-driven services, event-driven systems).
• Develop and maintain backend services and distributed systems for scalability and performance.
• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers on cloud-native strategies.
• Build and optimize data pipelines for real-time and batch processing.
• Enable AI-enabled features like intelligent search, recommendations, and decision-support.
• Contribute to search systems using Elastic/OpenSearch/Solr.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices with modern tools.
• Ensure reliability through monitoring, logging, and observability best practices.
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews with cross-functional teams.
• Support production systems and troubleshoot performance issues.
