Job summary

Novellia, Inc. in the United States is seeking experienced Backend Engineers to build scalable distributed systems and AI-enabled features that process healthcare data at scale.

You will own end-to-end development, design robust APIs, implement observability, and collaborate with frontend, data, and AI teams to deliver data-rich user experiences. This role offers the chance to help build an engineering team from the ground up and to contribute to transformative health insights.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience in distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Node.js or Java.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Backend observability, monitoring, logging and autoscaling.
• Experience with relational databases.
• Startup experience preferred: 2+ years.
• Strong debugging and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services and processing pipelines for large healthcare data.
• Integrate and optimize AI components including LLMs to power insights.
• Collaborate with frontend, data and AI teams for data-rich experiences.
• Own end-to-end feature development from conception to deployment.
• Implement observability for services and data pipelines.
• Adhere to coding, testing and deployment best practices.
• Work with product owners and designers to translate requirements into specs.
• Stay updated on backend practices and AI trends.
