About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer to take real ownership across our stack. You’ll work directly alongside our CTO on current product and future development, and partner with the founding team to shape product, technology, and strategy. You’ll help build not just our software, but our culture, our processes, and our engineering practices.

What Success Looks Like

• You write, review, and ship production code. The company’s success depends on what you build.
• You use Generative AI tools daily to improve the quality and speed of everything you deliver.
• You make long-term architectural decisions, balancing speed, quality, and safety — not just what’s easiest today.
• You own the code you write end-to-end: from design through deployment to ongoing operations.
• Your team can count on you when something breaks in production.
• You communicate openly, share your reasoning, and keep the team aligned on important decisions.
• You’re a first-principles thinker who digs into how things actually work, not just how to use them.
• You learn quickly from sparse documentation and unfamiliar codebases.

Required expertise

Python, Terraform, and GCP.

• Backend frameworks: Python, Node.js, NuxtJS, or Express.js
• Cloud platforms: Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure
• Languages: Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C++, or Go
• APIs & RPCs: REST, gRPC, or GraphQL
• Databases: SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Firebase
• CI/CD: Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab, or similar
• Version control: Git or Perforce
• Architecture: Microservices

• AI platform experience: OpenAI, Anthropic, HuggingFace, Vertex AI, Bedrock, or SageMaker
• Enterprise scale: proven track record building systems with >99% SLAs
