Job summary

Huck Adventures in Broomfield, Colorado is seeking a Senior Database & Backend Engineer to lead the design and deployment of our backend architecture and API management platform. You will help solve scalability challenges in delivering our outdoor app while leading the development of our database and ETL workflows.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with RDBMS, NoSQL, and cloud services, particularly Google Cloud. This position offers a unique opportunity to build our systems from the ground up in a dynamic startup environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL (Firebase Firestore, Cloud Firestore, PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Experience with Google Cloud functions or Firebase Cloud functions handling at least 2,000,000 users.
• Experience writing in TypeScript or comparable language.

Responsibilities

• Design Backend Architecture, API and database for the Huck App.
• Deliver a multi-cloud, loosely-coupled, distributed, and highly available platform.
• Be the subject matter expert for the distributed data platform.
