Job summary

Parts Town in Addison, IL, seeks a Principal Backend Engineer to design, architect, and optimize scalable microservices powering our eCommerce and enterprise platforms. You will drive backend architecture and ensure seamless integration across systems like commerce, CMS, ERP, PIM, and marketing, leveraging Node.js, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless tech.

Qualifications

10+ years of backend system design, eCommerce, and distributed applications.
Strong written and verbal communication in English.
Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript on cloud-native platforms (Azure preferred).

Responsibilities

Design scalable cloud-native microservices and ensure interoperability between platforms (eCommerce, CMS, ERP, PIM, marketing).
Leverage Node.js, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless tech to build high-performance services.
Establish CI/CD practices and automated testing; drive service-to-service communication standards (REST, GraphQL, gRPC).
Lead disaster recovery strategies, observability, and logging best practices.
Mentor engineers and collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and data teams to optimize APIs and databases.
