Job summary

DataSpring is seeking a Senior Azure Architect to lead the design of its Azure platform, including landing zones, networking, identity, resilience, and governance for healthcare data products nationwide.

The role is full-time and remote, reporting to the Director, Enterprise Architecture & Infrastructure. You will shape Azure standards, review vendor designs, and stay hands-on to prove designs before adoption.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in infrastructure or cloud engineering, with 5+ years designing Azure environments at enterprise scale.
• Healthcare or regulated industry experience preferred; experience directing vendor/managed-service teams is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; AZ-305 strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture design for Azure platforms and initiatives, including landing zones, management group/subscription design, hub-and-spoke networking, and shared services.
• Design for resilience with targets for availability, RTO, and RPO; test multi-region and DR patterns.
• Develop and apply Azure standards via Azure Policy, reference architectures, and IaC modules (Terraform; Helm; Bicep a plus).
• Review vendor/partner designs against standards and enforce delivery quality.
• Lead network architecture: private, edge, global traffic, DNS, hybrid connectivity, and zero-trust security.
• Collaborate with Information Security to meet HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST; focus on PHI security, identity, encryption, logging.
• Manage cloud costs (FinOps): tagging, right-sizing, reservations, savings plans, and cost-conscious choices.
• Design platform foundations for AI workloads (Azure OpenAI, AI Foundry) and secure access patterns.
• Improve observability: LGTM, OpenTelemetry, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights; enable rapid incident root-cause tracing.
• Mentor engineers on architecture and infrastructure; document decisions; report weekly progress to DataSpring management.
