Job summary

AutoStore is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to own the DevOps function for the Qubit Fulfillment Platform, a 24/7 global warehouse automation app. You will design and operate the Azure infrastructure, release pipelines, and automation that support rapid, safe releases by cross-functional squads.

You will establish tooling and standards from IaC to environment provisioning, mentor engineers, and drive best practices across teams while ensuring high availability and global uptime.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in cloud platforms, primarily Microsoft Azure.
• Proficiency in C# and Python, and scripting with PowerShell or Bash.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or Ansible, and with container orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and routing; knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with security protocols such as SSH, HTTPS, IPsec, and AAA.
• Experience with a 24x7 global application with high availability and uptime.
• Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines and release automation through Azure DevOps, CircleCI, and Octopus Deploy.
• Experience with observability and centralized logging tooling such as New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Experience with incident management, including on-call participation, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews.
• Proficiency in managing both Linux and Windows environments.
• Experience designing, developing, and managing global multi-tenant cloud-based infrastructure and applications, with PostgreSQL, Elastic clusters, etc.
• Experience with distributed systems and fundamental algorithmic concepts.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues with cloud-based processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex infrastructure challenges.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams to implement cloud solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Independent owner who can solve problems, provide architecture guidance, and execute with minimal oversight.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and establish DevOps standards across squads.

Responsibilities

• Own the DevOps function for the Qubit Fulfillment Platform, a 24/7 global warehouse automation app.
• Design, build, and operate the Azure infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and automation used by product squads.
• Own tooling and standards from infrastructure as code to release orchestration and environment provisioning.
• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and release automation with gradual deployments across services.
• Lead incident response, on-call rotation, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews.
• Mentor engineers and set DevOps standards and best practices across squads.
